Active Republican Campaign Operative Ken Mehlman
As a long time Republican, Ken Mehlman was able to work as chief of staff for Congresswoman Kay Granger and was part of Rep. Lamar Smith’s team. He worked on election campaigns in Ohio, Georgia, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Texas in behalf of Bob Dole’s presidential campaigns in 1996, as well as for George Bush’s in 1992 and in 2000.
Under the former US President George Bush, Ken Mehlman served as a political director for the White House from 2001 to 2004. In 2004, Mehlman acted as campaign manager for the Bush-Cheney tandem, and the following year, he became Chairman of the Republican National Committee.
Ken Mehlman was born on the 21st of August 1966 in Baltimore, MD to Arthur Mehlman, a former partner at the auditing department of KPMG, an international corporate services corporation. On the other hand, Ken Mehlman’s brother, Bruce Mehlman, worked as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Technology Policy, and later on cofounded the lobbying firm of Mehlman Vogel and Castagnetti.
Ken Mehlman finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988 at Franklin and Marshall College. Three years later, in 1991, he took home a Juris Doctor from the prestigious Harvard Law School. He later went on to political prominence.
