Sick of the Office? Try a Garden Room
Monday, October 31st, 2011Being a telecommuter is not for everyone, still I would contend that for those who work in a creative discipline, do seriously think about working from home should you be able to do so. Why? Dreaming up new design ideas isn’t like any other field – you can be artistic at anytime of the day, not simply office hours. Not only that, but it’s hard being creative in a noisy workplace. Be it writing, web design, print, graphic design, whatever – you need that solitude to think up imaginative concepts.
I have been a telecommuter for the last three years, and have by no means regretted the move. At home, I work everyday, yet every day kind of feels like a holiday. I suppose you might think I’m not working hard; even so I am not – it is simply that at any time when I sit right down to my project at hand, I really DO work. No effort is a waste, and thus it’s really productive. I do know of a few other individuals who have garden rooms and they typically have the same opinion as me – working from home actually saves time and is truly productive as well. While it isn’t for everyone, should you really feel you’re not making the most of your time in the office, think about working from home.
